All Show and All Go - RO_JA Racing's
RSX Duo- Car Program
Most individuals dream about having the best of both worlds - all
show and all go but in reality there is always a compromise. When
we conceptualized our racing showcase program, we felt that we wanted
to have the best of both worlds and to do that would mean building
two over the top vehicles, one being a full tube chassis drag charger
and the other being an super extreme complete show car. We wanted
to show what we, as RO_JA Engineering Works, could do with the RSX
and show what a great platform it was to build upon; whether an
enthusiast wanted to drive hard at races or to floss at the car
shows. With this in mind, we conceptualized our RSX Duo-Car program
RSX Show Car
With the RSX show car, our goal is to build an incredible showstopper
that would both be admired by enthusiasts and also be used as a
research too as we researched and developed products that we hope
to offer to RSX consumers. The aim is to get people to admire the
aesthetics, sit in the vehicle, listen to the audio, play a game,
watch some video clips, examine the engine, and hear the exhaust
In effect, our goal is to compel people to become involved with
the car and the products displayed on and in the vehicle. To increase
the exposure of our own "RO_JA" brand as well as the multiple
brands of our partners', we plan to work with all of our technology
partners not only to create one badass RSX show car but also to
display innovative new products that will eventually hit the market.
Our vision is to inspire people to think in a new direction to limitless
ends. We want to inspire people to desire the Acura RSX and the
products that we develop for it.

RSX Race Car
The purpose of the RSX drag racecar will to be to race hard and help our partners
develop the best performance products for the RSX and the K20 powerplant. The
team looks to compete very competitively with a professional style, attitude,
and form while also striving to win races and hoping to break records. We believe
that with the conditions present in building and campaigning a race vehicle
we provide the basis to develop a more advanced and better performing product.
Proven and better quality parts ensure better performance and a more enjoyable
experience in the vehicle.

RSX Race Car Specs |
| Chassis: |
RJ Simrock, RJ's Race Cars in El Cajon, CA is
building the chassis. Simrock has a rich background in chassis building
and racing. He currently pilots Team AEBS Racing's front engine - rear drive
tube chassis for the Ford Focus. It held the record time for its class at
mid 7's in the 2001 season and is also the 2001 Pro Import Champion for
both NIRA and NHRA. The configuration for the RSX chassis is front engine-front
wheel drive and is constructed using chromoly tubing. |
|
Body:
|
The RSX race body is developed to
be lighter and more efficient than a current stock metal body. Utilizing
efficient methods of airflow management the aerodynamic engineering, design,
and configuration of the RSX Drag body was completed using Fluent computational
fluid dynamics, facilitated by BAR Aerospace and Pure Styling. The body
is made from dry carbon fiber that is strengthened by honeycomb nomex and
finished by vacuum forming. The body will be painted with a custom-racing
scheme that will emphasis the marketing partners involved. |
|
Engine:
|
The standard RSX Type-S power plant
is completely reworked to produce the maximum possible reliable horsepower
in forced induction (read Turbo) trim. This power plant will use as many
marketable products as possible, which will be made available to the public.
A primary power plant supplemented by two backup power plants will be built
and made available at every single race. The engine build program is done
by AEBS and using components from such companies as AEBS, Arrows, HKS, HPC,
Earl's, Honda, and Valvoline. Engine Management is to be headed by EFI technologies
and will feature complete heads up display and data logging functions. |
|
Fluids:
|
The oil and lubricant wizards at Valvoline will
provide all the fluids required to operate the RSX drag vehicle. By using
Valvoline's racing oils and high quality lubricants, we guaranteed to have
consistent lubricant performance. |
| Safety: |
Sparco USA will provide RJ de Vera and the RO_JA
Racing team all the necessary safety equipment and fireproof apparel making
sure that driver and team are always working and racing in the safest conditions. |
| Wheels and Tires: |
RO_JA Motegi is building custom lightweight
forged racing wheels to accommodate professional drag racing slicks. The
right wheels and sticky tire combo ensure the team the best possible traction
and grip down the 1320. |
More Show and More Go
Because we just love racing and building great show and street cars, we have
also continued to build additional Acura vehicles that make the RO_JA Acura
Racing team one of the most complete youth racing entities around.
Acura Integra Type-R J Spec Circuit Car
Shawn Bota pilots our circuit car, which is based on a US spec Integra fitted
with a J-SPEC ITR front end. The RO_JA Racing ITR Circuit Car races in the TCRA
(Touring Car Racing Association) series on tracks like Willow Springs, Buttonwillow,
Sears Point, and California Speedway. The circuit car features a fully balanced
and blueprinted 1.8L VTEC Honda motor, a full C-West Aero package, Endless/Zeal
racing coilover system, RE Works strut tower braces, Stoptech brake system,
and Sparco safety equipment. We hope to help popularize the road-racing scene
to the youth market and also hope to gain valuable knowledge that will enable
us to develop better RE Works suspension and performance products.
Acura NSX Widebody Street/Show Car
In an effort to attract more attention to our team, we have also assembled a
NSX street/show vehicle. The goal behind the NSX project is to create a vehicle
that could encompass all aspects of motorsports and could still be driven on
a day-to-day basis. This project is designed to bring together all realms of
car enthusiasm; whether it be burning rubber at race tracks, shinning at auto
shows, or cruising down the street bumping some tunes - we are trying to achieve
a perfect balance between street, show, and track. This project is meant to
awe any car enthusiast. Competitive sound, blistering speed, and aggressive
looks - that is what our GT-NSX project is all about. The project was inspired
by the GT race versions of the NSX in the All Japan Touring Car Championships
thus the "GT NSX" codename. The car can be seen at various shows and
races throughout the country and is also driven daily by RJ De Vera.

More to Come
To most die-hard car enthusiasts, there is never an end to tuning one's car
and like most die-hard enthusiasts there is never an end for us. We will always
look for ways to improve our race, show, and street vehicles. Besides that we
are looking to continue our tradition of tuning Acura automobiles by working
on a mild Acura MDX "baller" ride and street-tourer Acura CL-S project.
So look out for our continuing and upcoming RO_JA Acura Racing Showcase Projects.
You can expect the greatest efforts from us to deliver the our best
